A weather forecast of light frost and cold temperatures didn’t deter Monroe’s active seniors from jumping to the jive and kicking up their heels as they danced to the music of the Moonlight Swing Orchestra last Saturday night.
The East County Senior Center presented their annual Senior Social Dinner and Dance and the Moonlight Swing Orchestra began the night with a resounding Glenn Miller piece, the horns in harmony. The Miller signature, and eight beats to the bar, drove people up from the dinner table and onto the dance floor.
The dinner was a treat –chicken pesto almond pasta, tossed green salad, golden buttered rolls— topped off with a sweet chocolate trifle dessert, compliments of Merrill Gardens.
