|Sky Performing Arts once again presents an all-new version of their popular World War II big band production of “In The Mood.”
Written and directed by Terry Simon, the show recreates what a USO show presented to the troops on the front lines at the close of the war might have been like. A seventeen-piece big band and six singers present over twenty of the popular tunes of the day, interspersed with large doses of comedy and nostalgia.
This year’s cast returns Greg Norgaard, L. Sam Samano, and Simon from last year; along with newcomers Rebecca Guthrie and Neil Sandlin, and back from the “In The Mood” cast of several years ago, Loretta Nichols.
The Sky Notes Orchestra, under the direction of Bill Coady, plays a large number of show’s songs using the same arrangements used by Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, the Andrews Sisters, and several other bands of the day.
The show runs November 30 through December 9. Performances on November 30, and December 7, 8 and 9 are at Frank Wagner Performing Arts Center, 639 W. Main St. in Monroe. The December 1 show will be at the Old Redmond School House Community Center in Redmond, and the December 2 show will be at the Everett Music Hall in the Everett Mall.
Tickets for all shows are $14 and $16 and can be purchased at www.brownpapertickets.com. For reservations call (360) 863-1663.
