Flashback: Hartley’s Camp

A logging crew gets ready for dinner on Christmas Eve, 1904, at Hartley’s Camp on the Snoqualmie River near Monroe.

This is the 16th photo in a photo album of the Hartley Camp that was created by Ed Anderson, a direct descendent of both the Hartley (of Everett) and Blackman (of Snohomish) families. He is the great-grandson of Washington Governor Roland Hartley (1924-32), and the grandson of Edward Hartley.

The logs from this site were sent down the river to the Clark-Nickerson Mill, which was managed by Roland Hartley’s father-in-law, David Clough.
