Kent shooter apparently found dead near Index

A truck believed to belong to a man who police say rammed the truck into the Kent home of his ex-wife and wounded her with a gunshot was found at the Lake Serene trailhead. The body of a man dead of what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound was found near the truck.

A man who drove his truck into his ex-wife’s home and fired a gun repeatedly before fleeing in his truck appears to have committed suicide at the Lake Serene Trailhead near Index.

The man rammed his truck into the Kent home at about 3:30 Thursday morning, fired a gun, striking his ex-wife in the hand, then backed away in the truck and fled. Three others were in the home, children between the ages of 10 and 18. Two escaped the house through the window and one called 911.

Snohomish County Sheriff’s deputies later four a truck matching the description of the one driven by the shooter in Kent was found at the Lake Serene trailhead on the Mt. Index River Road. A body of a man was found near the truck, dead of what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
