Body and burned out vehicle found on Woods Creek Road

Investigators are trying to determine the identity and cause of death of a body found near a burned-out vehicle on a piece of private property in the 7300 block of Woods Creek Road Saturday.

At about 3:30 p.m. a citizen called 911 to report finding a burned-out vehicle that had been backed into some trees on the property. Next to the vehicle was the body of a deceased person. The vehicle was on a large piece of property and was not visible from the road.

Investigators determined that daylight was necessary to process the scene, and returned Sunday morning at 8 a.m. to begin investigating.

The body has not yet been identified, and as of Sunday it was not known if there is a connection between the vehicle and the property on which it was found.

It is being investigated as a suspicious death.
