Knowlton Citizen of the Year

The upper Sky Valley celebrated its most giving citizens Saturday night at the annual Community Service Awards at Sultan High School.

This year the Sky Valley Citizen of the Year Award was presented to Roger Knowlton in recognition of his 50 years in the fire service.

He has served as a firefighter, captain, assistant chief, and fire chief, as well as being one of the first certified EMTs in Snohomish County. He is currently a fire commissioner for Sultan’s Fire District #5.

He has also served on the Civil Service Commission, the Sultan City Council and has volunteered for the Sultan Shindig and has coordinated, organized and judged the logging event. He also helped build River Park in Sultan while operating his own business, R&R Cutting.
