Re: Downtown revitalization

Main Street revitalization—- Sounds great. Vitality is favored wherever we find it; and once found we hurry to re-vitalize it to fit our fancy. Newspeak defines revitalization as vitality organized and managed for our own good by an exalted political class. To the Main Street wise, revitalization means “The fix is in.”

Monroe is vital as ever! I’ve been drinking its water forty years and suffer no need to be “revitalized.” But I sense the water now is not so tasty since the government treatment plant has refined it into a product suitable for sale in pricey, plastic bottles to fashion followers.

Tinker as you must with community revitalization toys. Just don’t play on my lawn. It is astonishingly vital having never tasted metered city water. Thank you.
