Silverware made a strong showing in this production number performed during Sultan High School’s “Beauty and the Beast,” Wednesday.
Allaura Adams played “Belle,” the beauty of the piece, and Jordan Swift played the Beast. Much of the rest of the cast played household objects such as a clock, candles and kitchenware, having been enchanted along with the Beast until love should break the spell.
The show featured music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice and was based on the book by Linda Woolverton.
The Sultan production featured a cast of 40, of whom 13 were in the music pit and 16 where in the technical crew.
Sultan High School Music Teacher Jill Sumpter, director of the production, made a point of thanking the many people who helped stage the production, including numerous volunteers, saying, “We could not do this ourselves. Thank you.”
