Lee Hodo, 79, of Gold Bar, has been appointed to a vacant Gold Bar City Council seat.
Hodo, a Korean War veteran and former maintenance engineer, moved to Gold Bar in 1991 after retiring from his job in Alaska.
He worked as a Gold Bar school bus driver for a time, and has also worked as a consultant.
He is taking the city council seat left vacant by Chris Wright, who resigned in September, citing an opportunity to go back to school.
Hodo was the only applicant for the seat. He was sworn in Tuesday, after having been voted in 5-0 by the city council.
The city continues to seek a replacement for Elizabeth LaZella, who resigned last month.

I appreciate that Mr. Hodo has stepped forward to fill the vacancy on the city council. I wish that the news story had stated that he was appointed by the County Council, did the City Council actually have any say in this matter? The County Council meeting is on video at the council web page, it is an interesting and warm exchange of information.
