Stormy Keffeler (left) of Monroe was crowned Miss Washington Miss and Claire Sorgen of Sultan was crowned Miss Washington Preteen at the annual Miss Washington International Junior Miss pageant in Portland, Ore. last month.
Both winners will join other titleholders from across Washington in traveling to Virginia Beach this summer to compete for the title of International Junior Miss.
Delegates will compete in Interview competition, allowing each judge to personally speak with each delegate about their accomplishments and future goals.
They will present a personal introduction, which is meant to encourage public speaking and presentation skills. Competitions in evening gown and fun fashion wear will follow.

Congratulations! Stormy, so beautiful! And Claire, I’m so proud of you!!! Our girls are blessed to have role-models, such as yourselves. Of all the things I have been most surprised about, it’s how genuinely nice and real most of the families in the pageant community have been. It’s not like people see on TV. Gini and Denise, you should be very, very proud of the young ladies you are raising.
And both represent our Miss Sky Valley too! Can’t wait to see you at this years competition, April 20th, here in Monroe!
