To the Editor:
The East County Senior Center recently held a “Health Day” with both the Puget Sound Blood Center and the Lion’s Club Diagnostic Van participating. It was a great success with close to 50 individuals receiving health checkups and 24 units of blood being donated.
Gayle Richards from the Puget Sound Blood Center sent us the following e-mail: A total of 28 donors were registered, 24 pints of blood collected and 7 first time donors! This was a good turnout and a great help to the very low blood supply! Thank you everyone for your donation! We appreciate your dedication to saving lives!
Because 1 pint of blood can save up to 3 lives, your donations will save up to 72 patients. This is a huge success for the patients awaiting blood transfusions.
Thanks to all the donors who took time out of their busy day to donate blood. Thank you to Joan Brown, Jacob McGee & their wonderful committee for organizing the blood drive. It is with great appreciation to East County Senior Center for your tremendous support and for providing a convenient place for donors to give the gift of life. We couldn’t have done it without you
