Paula’s Wine Knot will host a “Friend-Raiser” for Take the Next Step on Wednesday, April 17, from 5 to 7 p.m. 19829 168th St. S.E. in Monroe.
The public is invited to enjoy an evening of hors d’oeuvres, chocolates, and wine as it learns about Take the Next Step, a drop-in center for homeless and at-risk people.
There is no charge for this event.
There will be a raffle with prizes that include ballroom dance lessons, gift baskets and more.
Enjoy one glass of wine or beer at no charge. Additional glasses of wine and beer will be available for purchase.
This year, over 6,000 people will visit the drop-in center; 25 percent will be homeless and more than 300 will be homeless children. Over 10,000 meals will be served; after-school tutoring will be offered to children living in poverty; mentors will be provided for teen mothers and an outreach will be provided for homeless teens.
