Since the 1890s, our community has been given medical care in Monroe at the site of what is now known as Valley General Hospital, situated right next to Highway 2. It has been your Public Hospital District No. 1 since 1960, and uncounted thousands of people have received care over generations by the teams of medical professionals at the hospital. The financial issues the Hospital District now faces are real and are severe. As an RN on the Medical Surgical Unit at Valley General, I am proud to work with the highly competent, professional and compassionate team which comprises the staff of Valley General Hospital, and I know all are looking forward to a future of serving the community. Many thousands of people still rely on your hospital, and its importance to the community is undeniable. We have served the community well for a long time, and now it is time for you the community to step up and save your hospital. That’s right, it is your hospital, and its many years of service deserve your YES vote on Proposition 1. Thank you in advance for saving your community hospital.
