Re: Jodi Arias. What’s frightening and sobering about this sad episode is how someone can become so narcissistic and disconnected and absent of feeling as to be able commit a brutal crime like this and still not feel remorse or grasp what has really happened in this crime against a person, humanity, and Creation.
The public has been treated to a non-stop leering account of her brutality, self centeredness, sexual escapades and sexual manipulation and has enjoyed piling on for months (between commercials) under the guise of ‘information’ (shock entertainment) and participating in their denial of their own potentially brutal nature, of course. HLN even aired a live ‘drama’ of a panel of jurors every night answering bizarre questions about the trial and making judgments along with a Twittering and texting public, complete with a game show atmosphere and cheesy hosts. Not to mention Nancy Grace and her obnoxious artificial outrage and show biz fakery. The whole thing has been almost as disgusting as the crime itself. Nothing has been learned as to the cause of this horrific narcissism (a lack of love on many levels from infancy onward, of course, as those of us who have done therapy realize). It’s all been a huge waste and a huge travesty and failing on the part of the media, the public, the participants in the crime, and the judicial system itself. Nauseating.
