Workers from BNSF’s signal crews struggled to repair three railroad intersection crossing arms that froze in a down position Friday morning, gridlocking Monroe traffic for hours. The crossing arms got stuck mid-morning in Monroe, and the railroad isn’t sure why.
“They were in a down locked mode safety position,” said Gus Melonas, spokesperson for BNSF. “We are investigating.”
Traffic was expected to resume by 2 p.m.
