Reading with Rover: Saturday, Jan. 25, 11 a.m. The Reading with Rover program is designed to help kids strengthen reading skills and improve reading confidence.
Worlds of Costumes: Thursday, Jan. 2, 1 p.m. Learn facts and hear stories about costumes. Come dressed up as your favorite character or come as yourself. A craft is included. For school age children 5 and up.
Crazy, Foamy, Bouncy Fun with Chemistry: Friday, Jan. 3, 1 p.m.
Explore exploding elephant toothpaste. Discover if raisins can dance. Experiment with bouncing blobs. Chemical Kevin will visit. For school age children 6 and up.
Volts and Jolts with Pacific Science Center: Saturday, Jan. 4, 1 p.m. Electricity is illuminated in a series of shocking experiments. Explore the properties of electricity with a hair-raising Van de Graaf generator and Tesla coil. For school age children 5 and up.
Junior Monroe Wednesday Writers: Wednesdays, Jan. 8, 15, 22 and 29, 4:30 p.m. Support and guidance for teen writers, led by published author Bernadette Pajer and Teen Librarian Lindsay Hanson. All writers in grades 6-12 are welcome.
Monroe Library Teen Advisory Board: Tuesday, Jan. 7, 3:30 p.m.

Teen Gaming: Tuesday, Jan. 14, 3 p.m. Enjoy Wii, XBOX Kinect and PlayStation 2 games including Guitar Hero, Dance Dance Revolution, Mario Kart and more. Board games and snacks available. For ages 12 to 18.
Teen Movie: Tuesday, Jan. 28, 3 p.m. Watch a movie and discuss contemporary cinema with other teens and enjoy some snacks. Participants will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a copy of the DVD.
Wednesday Writers: Wednesdays, Jan. 8, 15, 22 and 29, 7 p.m. Weekly support and writing guidance, by published author Bernadette Pajer. All writers welcome, fiction and non-fiction.
