New Year’s Eve is a week away, and even though it’s on a Tuesday night, there are still lots of opportunities to ring in the New Year with friends, a special meal, maybe some music, and a glass of champagne. Here are places in the valley with events planned.
Adam’s Northwest Bistro and Brewery
104 N. Lewis St., Monroe
Monroe’s most creative restaurant has put together a special four-course dinner menu for New Year’s Eve.
The appetizer course includes a truffled egg custard with parmesan foam, caviar with potato blini and chive crème fraiche, and oxtail terrine with carrot puree and pickled beets.
That is followed by a choice of duck consommé with confit duck dumplings or a poached pear salad with gorgonzola flan, smoked almonds, winter green and pomegranate pearls.
There are two choices for the main course; roasted squab with sweet potato and mascarpone ravioli, braised chard, faro risotto and huckleberry sauce; or a chef’s choice fish with savoy cabbage purse filled with fennel and mushrooms potato pave and Meyer lemon confit.
The dessert course includes a buttermilk panna cotta with blackberry sauce, cabernet sauvignon sorbet with bitter chocolate or lemon custard with brûlée meringue.
An optional wine pairing includes a different selection for each course, including champagne or sparkling with the appetizer, a lighter white with the soup or salad, a red wine with the squab and perhaps a lighter red with the fish, and port or sauterne with the dessert.
The meal is $60; for an additional $30 indulge in the wine pairing.
