5’2” Senior Randi Tuggle shows grit driving the entire Coupeville team en route to the Turks’ last-seconds win over Coupeville, 40 – 37, on Tuesday evening, Jan. 7, at home. Tuggle, Jessica Hopkins and Courtney Morris poured in the bulk of the Turks’ points, combining for 28. The Turks came back from the winter break a bit slowly, not scoring until the final seconds of the first period against the Wolves’ dominating defense. The Turks owned the second half, stunning the Wolves, 32- 17, in the final periods. The Turks laid on a full-press defense at the end and, with 18 seconds to play, leading 38 – 37, freshman Courtney Morris stepped to the foul line and sank the clinching points. Out of town in Coupeville, the Turk boys smacked the Wolves, 91- 80. The Lady Turks stand 2-2 and 3-6 for the season.
