Although identification is uncertain, this is most likely the first Milwaukee Road Railroad Bridge across the Skykomish River just east of Monroe. Otherwise it would by the Cherry Valley Railroad Bridge (Great Northern), which crossed at Ann Street.
River flooding proved a recurring challenge to the railroads in the area and ultimately caused the Milwaukee Road to abandon its branch line between Monroe and Everett and move its trestle and bridge across the Skykomish River about 200 feet downstream to merge with the Grant Northern Mainline at Monroe in 1939.
