Thank you voters for your support in the recent school election. Both the replacement of the “learning” levy and the new technology levy passed!
This success was not an accident. Hundreds of hours were put in by many who had one goal in common – ensuring all students have the tools, instruction and support they need to compete in this world. Whether our graduates’ goals are to attend college, enter the military, or head straight into the work force, they must have strong skills to be successful.
Volunteers put in many, many sessions doing the campaign-type work and dug deep to provide the funds to accomplish it. Our sincere appreciation goes to all those who stepped up. If your schedule did not allow you to volunteer, please take a moment right now to thank a friend or neighbor who did.
Four years of “learning” levy support for text books, teaching and help for struggling students will make a huge difference as Monroe Public Schools continues to improve so all students are successful. The new 6-year Educational Technology Levy is a mammoth step forward in closing the gap between our aging system and the tools needed to prepare all students to compete.
To those with questions about school finances, I invite you to join the Budget Review Committee. It is a simple, one-day commitment on Friday, Feb. 21, but it makes a big difference. Please call the
Superintendent’s office at 360.804.2501 to let us know you are willing to be part of this important effort.
Many thanks again Monroe. You truly have made a difference for children!
