A 69-year-old employee of Monroe’s Buzz Inn restaurant was cleaning the restaurant between 3 and 4 a.m. this morning when a man in a black and yellow jacket and a black mask confronted him.
The robber, who had a gun and was about 5’6″, according to the victim, tied the man with zip ties and left him in the men’s restroom.
The employee struggled out of the restroom and into the hallway, where he waited for about an hour until other arriving employees found him at about 5 a.m. and called 911.
The employees also found that the door to the office was open, as was the door to a small safe, from which some money was missing. The man who had been tied up had some abrasions from the zip ties, but otherwise had no serious injury.
The Monroe Police Department continues to investigate. Anyone with information that could help solve the crime, please call (360) 794-6300.
