Shirley passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 28, 2017. She joins her beloved husband of 51 years, Cal; her eldest daughter, Gayle; her grandson, Tim; her parents, Phil and Laura Leith; and her five siblings: Del, Jim, Len, Phyllis, and RubyAnn.

Shirley Mae Leith was born on July 28, 1930 in Great Falls, Montana to Phil and Laura Leith. She was the youngest of six siblings. On February 15, 1952 she married the love of her life, Calvin Frombach. They had four daughters: Gayle, Laura, Sheryl, and Pam.

Shirley and Cal lived in Woodway, Washington for 10 years before moving to Monroe, Washington in 1967 where they built the “Flying F Ranch,” now Monroe First Air Field. From 1991 to 1998, they lived in Peshastin, Washington before returning to Monroe. Shirley and Cal were a “Dynamic Duo” who were respected in their community and were generous with their time and talents.

Following Cal’s passing in 2003, Shirley continued to be involved in her community by calling bingo at Brookdale Senior Living, volunteering at East County Senior Center, attending Cascade Church, and regularly donating to the Sky Valley Food Bank. Shirley was kind and generous. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was feisty, strong, and a fighter until she took her last breath.

Shirley was proud of her family and is survived by her three daughters and two sons-in-laws: Laura and Philippe Vallerand of Snohomish, Sheryl Nelson of Monroe, and Pam and Steve Powers of Seattle; five grandchildren: Heather, Harmonie, Andy, Jeremy, and Emilie; and nine great-grandchildren: Boston, Ryder, Josiah, Banner, Ava, Myla, Scotlynn, Owen, and Haaken.

Please join Shirley’s family in celebrating her life on Saturday, October 14 at 1:00 p.m. at Cascade Church (14377 Fryelands Boulevard SE – Monroe, Washington 98272, cascadechurch.org).
