Cow manure turns to electricity in the Tualco Valley
At least 280 homes in Snohomish County are now receiving their power from an alternative source that many could never imagine. It’s not wind, nor solar, nor biodeisel based. Rather, its cow-based. That is, the new power source is from a utility that converts gas from cow manure into electricity, a technology that may help both salmon stocks and dairy farms survive. Read story
Explosion back with NBA draft picks, may build arena in Monroe
Those who don’t see the new Explosion basketball players in the first few weeks of the season might not get to see them at all, said new team head coach Chris Weakley last week. Some of them could already be playing for the NBA. That is the caliber of the new players the Snohomish County Explosion, Monroe’s professional basketball team, is bringing to the basketball court this spring, team organizers say.
