The Easter bunny apparently leaves eggs even for people who aren't seeking them, according to a Startup man. Roger DeVos had forgotten the holiday Easter Sunday and was working instead on a yard project.

His sister, who owns the Startup Nursery on U.S. 2 had acquired a neighboring property, and DeVos was helping prepare it for new landscaping. He was digging around the roots of an old rhododendron when his shovel struck a stone. When he picked it up to toss it aside, he noticed it was a perfect oval. When he rinsed it off, he discovered a perfectly carved egg-shaped stone made of beautifully banded green and brown sedimentary rock.

"I bet it was left here by the people who used to live here," he said, gesturing at the old mobile home nearby. "I bet it just fell off the porch and rolled into the yard."

He gave the egg, which is about the size of a fist, to his sister, who is expanding her nursery into the neighboring property. "It's a lucky egg," he said.
