Work beginning on new lanes, bridge for SR 522

Work is underway on a project to make the 4.3-mile stretch of State Route 522 coming into Monroe a four-lane divided highway, and the government is asking for community input.

Beginning in the summer of 2010, construction will begin on a new bridge over the Snohomish River, a second highway to run parallel to the one that exists, another roundabout at the Main Street exit near the high school, and another interchange at the intersection with U.S. 2. Read Story
