A grave project: Monroe man catalogs cemeteries, brings families together

When Bi Liljeteg came to Monroe from Sweden in January, she thought she was coming to see the graves of ancestors she had recently learned were buried there. But when she arrived, she found that not all of her family was deceased. Her unexpected meeting with a living relative was made possible by a grueling project of Monroe’s Dexter Taylor, who in the previous three years had cataloged and posted online the names of every single person ever buried in Monroe. Wild Sky supporters celebrate

The clouds parted, and the sun shone brightly on the crowd of wilderness supporters gathered at the edge of the river near the town of Index.
There were plenty of high fives, applause and broad smiles among the one hundred fifty or so supporters and public officials from as far as the nations capitol who celebrated the hard won nine year battle to create the Wild Sky Wilderness area. Read Story
