PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The applicant requests buildings permits for construction of a 30,189 square foot on-site parking area, a 39,125 square foot sports field facility (Rotary/Miracle League Field), 2,970 square feet of bleachers, two 832 square foot restrooms, a 956 square foot concession stand, 50 square foot ticket booth and associated circulation ramps and walkways. The grading permit application involves a revised subgrade cut of 4,950 cubic yards and 950 cubic yards of cut for finish grading.

COMMENT AND APPEAL PROCEDURE: Comments and appeals to the SEPA determination must be submitted to the City Clerk on forms available at City Hall, 806 West Main Street, Monroe, WA 98272, and must be accompanied by a filing fee set in the Fees Resolution in place at the time the appeal is filed. The City of Monroe is currently accepting “Citizen-Initiated” requests for amendments to the City of Monroe Comprehensive Plan through the close of business on THURSDAY, JULY 31, 2008. As required by Washington State Law, this will be the only opportunity for amendment requests to be considered until JULY 2009.

The Comprehensive Plan is the 20-year development plan for the city. The Land Use Element includes land use designations, goals and policies that establish the city's land use patterns, zoning, and development regulations. The Plan also includes Natural Environment, Utilities, Housing, Transportation, Capital Facilities, and Shoreline Elements that establish goals and policies on how the city will deal with the items covered in each element.
