Two charged with first degree murder in Sultan homicide

Blackmail and life insurance may have been motives in the murder of a Sultan man, prosecutors said in court last week. David Grimm, 49, was reported to 911 as dead at about 6 a.m. the morning of June 26 at the 311th Street home he shared with his ex-girlfriend Debra Canady, 46, and her mother, a daughter, and sometimes a granddaughter.

Funds for fair may need to come from private sector, says parks director

The Evergreen State Fair turns 100 years old this summer, but its future may be more rooted in this century than the last, according to Tom Tiegen, Director of Snohomish County Parks. In a meeting with community stakeholders Wednesday, July 2, he outlined a vision for the financial future of the fair that could include buildings named after corporate giants.
