Motel manager's killer gets 27 months
Although the prosecution sought more, by the terms of the law, a man who killed another with a single punch during an argument at a Monroe motel in February was only required to serve 27 months in prison, a judge ruled Thursday. ART O’NEILL of Kent urges his 1960 John Deere Model 435-D on in the Tractor Pull Event at the Annual Antique Tractor Show and Threshing Bee in the Tualco Valley near Monroe Saturday. The object is to pull the weighted “skid” the farthest. The trick is that the white object on the skid is a weight that moves forward, transferring more weight to the front of the skid and increasing the resistance for the tractor. Rave draws kids to library
KIDS IN MONROE don‘t let the setting slow them down at a rave held Friday at the Monroe Library. The rave, dubbed “Illiterate” by the teens who helped organize it, was part of a program to get youth involved in the library, and three local DJs played music while kids waved or wore glowsticks and danced.
