NOTICE is hereby given that, on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at 7:00 p.m., there will be a SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING, in City Hall Council Chamber at 806 West Main Street, Monroe, WA.

The purpose of the meeting is for 2010 Budget discussions continuing from the October 13, 2009, Council meeting.
The meeting is open to the public.

SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. 019/2009

On 10/06/09, the City Council of the City of Monroe, Washington, approved Ordinance No. 019/2009, the main point of which may be summarized by its title as follows:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MONROE, WASHINGTON, EXTENDING AN INTERIM AMENDMENT TO MMC 13.8.240 FOR AN ADDITIONAL YEAR IN ORDER TO LIMIT THE CITY’S SEWER SERVICE AREA TO THE CITY LIMITS, THEREBY PROHIBITING SEWER EXTENSIONS BEYOND CITY LIMITS EXCEPT FOR PROPERTIES SERVED BY FAILING SEPTIC SYSTEMS OR ADJOINING COUNTY-OWNED PROPERTY; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

On October 6, 2009, the City Council of the City of Monroe, Washington, approved Ordinance No. 020/2009, the main point of which may be summarized by its title as follows:

AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF PROPERTIES BETWEEN THE NORTH CITY LIMITS AND EAST OF 191ST AVENUE, AND WEST OF 197TH AVENUE (L17 CHAIN LAKE CENTRAL ANNEXATION); ZONING THE ANNEXATION AREA AS RESIDENTIAL 4 DWELLINGS PER ACRE (R4); REQUIRING THE ASSUMPTION OF INDEBTEDNESS EXCEPT FOR A 1989 FIRE STATION BOND; REQUIRING THAT THE PROPERTY IN THE ANNEXATION AREA SHALL BE ASSESSED AND TAXED AT THE SAME RATE AND ON THE SAME BASIS AS OTHER PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF MONROE; AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MONROE, WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE MONROE COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE MAP FOR 5.19 ACRES LOCATED ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE 14500 BLOCK OF CHAIN LAKE ROAD FROM THE RESIDENTIAL 2-5 DESIGNATION TO THE RESIDENTIAL 8-11 DESIGNATION, PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
