What A Ride
Sultan teen racer makes it big

JD Beach of Sultan has 14 years of experience in dirt track motorcycle racing, has won many championship victories and titles, has had multiple appearances in magazines, including cover shots, and is racing full-time in Europe. For anyone, that would be quite a career. For JD it is doubly remarkable. He is only 17.

Sky Valley Election Results
Monroe transportation bond fails; candidates reflect on wins and losses

Incumbents carried Election Day in the Sky Valley, with all representatives and senators returning to office, regardless of party. But a bond that would have paid for a number of fixes to bad traffic spots in Monroe went down to defeat, three percentage points shy of the 60% super-majority required to pass it.

A man suspected of robbing an armored truck outside the Monroe Bank of America and fleeing down Woods Creek via inner tube has been arrested, along with a companion from Monroe. Read story
