NOTICE OF PLANNING COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE is hereby given that a PUBLIC HEARING will be held Monday, February 11, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. by the City of Monroe's Planning Commission in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 806 West Main Street, Monroe, Washington.
The purpose of the hearing is to take public testimony regarding the Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (DSEIS) for the Downtown Master Plan and Design Guidelines.
The Draft SEIS is issued by the City of Monroe in accordance with WAC 197-11-455, which provides thirty days from the date of issue in which to review and comment.
The Draft SEIS analyzes two action alternatives for the downtown planning area: Mixed-Use Moderate Rate Build-Out (Scenario A) and Mixed-Use Accelerated Rate Build-Out (Scenario B). Development under both action alternatives would require amendments to the city's comprehensive plan, official zoning map, and Monroe Municipal Code. The No Action alternative is also analyzed in the document. The scope of the SEIS specifically addresses: Land Use, Historic Preservation, Transportation and Parking, Public Services and Utilities, and Aesthetics.
Any interested person(s) may appear and voice their comments and/or concerns with the identified environmental elements to be affected by the proposed Downtown Plan. Written comments must be received in original form prior to the public hearing, for inclusion with the hearing materials, or by February 22, 2008 by 5:00 p.m., which is the expiration of the comment period. For additional information contact Kate Galloway, Senior Planner at (360) 863-4535.
The Planning Commission may take action at this hearing or may continue action on this proposal until a future date.
