THIS HOME, called Copper Falls, once featured a floor to vaulted ceiling copper waterfall and a home theater. Now the home, built as part of the 2007 Street of Dreams near Echo Falls, is a shell, gutted in an arson fire believed to have been the work of the radical environmentalist group Earth Liberation Front. Living A Nightmare: A Monroe family
is harrassed over a puppy killing video
Street of dreams hose
House after
The video is grainy and 17 seconds long, and it has made life very difficult for a Monroe area family. In the video, a man dressed in the brown uniform of a Marine serving in Iraq holds up a puppy by the scruff of its neck.

"Oh, cute little puppy," he says.

"So cute, so cute little puppy," croons a second soldier.

"Oh, oh, oh, I tripped," says the first soldier, turning. He then flings the puppy off the edge of a gully to the sound of yelping.

"That's mean," said the second soldier. "That was mean, Motari."

The man called Motari grins and shrugs and the clip ends.

The video appeared on YouTube.com, a website devoted to video clips on every conceivable subject, on the morning of Monday, March 3.

By that evening, the home address and phone number of a Monroe soldier believed to be the one in the video had been posted repeatedly on the internet, and the man's family entered what his sister called a "nightmare." Page 1
